Why Error: Drive not ready comes?

This same thing happens to my friend.One day he installed some file(.exe).The file installed properly but the next day when he starts his computer he got a error “Drive not ready”.This happens due to installation of that unknown file(.exe,.bat).Another Reason:This can be due to many reasons like the media reader, USB external drive,floppy. Just go into device manager and disable the floppy drive.This problem is not due to your hard disk problem.Mainly disabling problematic device is solution.
 
Basic Steps:

1. Use anti-virus,anti-spyware,anti-adware check.
2. Do the windows disk cleanup & error checking.
3. Use Pc repair software to repair.

1. Defragment your Hard Drive.

Advanced Steps:
Goto:
Start –> Control panel –> System –> Hardware tab –>Device Manager –> Check for drives(Disk Drives,Floppy Disk Controllers).Check for any Exclamation mark or any yellow symbol or any warning symbol.If You find that then click on it,they will tell you what is the cause for that error.Then if you still can’t find the solution then just tell me about the error by posting,i will try to solve it.
Cause:

• If the drive diskette is not inserted properly or the drive door is not closed then it occurs.
• This can happen due to the bad disc(Due to reading problem). 
• If the Power Connection and the Daisy Chain of the drive is not connected properly then the error comes.
• If the Cable Connection of the drive is loose or setup is not correct then it comes.
• If the drive is totally damaged then it sends the error massage.

 
Solution:

• If the problem is of Drive Diskette or not closed Drive Door then you should insert the Drive Diskette properly and you should also close the drive door.

 

• If the problem is of the Power Connection and the Daisy Chain is loose then you should connect them correctly.
• If the cable connection is loose and the setup is not correct then the cable connection should be connected properly and the setup should also be correct.Open your system unit(Cabinet),check the wire connected or not also check for the power connection.

 

• If the Drive is totally damaged then your should replace it with a new one by checking all the things above.

Why Computer gets white?

My computer turns white- No this doesn’t happen with me but it can happen with anybody. You have started your computer and after sometimes it gone to white. But not to scared about it. See the solution below and it can fix your problem.

“ My computer takes too long to boot- it starts up fine- shows the motherboard logo then the booting from disk thing and then screen goes black- takes about 1 min to 1 1/2 minutes then white horizontal lines at the bottom of the screen appears which takes about 4-5 minutes to load up. But after that it all works perfect- i really don't understand why this happens, and it really makes my computer a lot Slower. ”
Explanation:

1. First Of all change your video card otherwise it will continue to happen.
2. You just make a run of cleanup wizard in your PC or use software to clean up, that will help your Pc to process a lot faster.  

Cause:

• If there is any problem in the High Voltage Circuit then it could happen. Ex: Problems of Fly back.
• If any part of the monitor(register, diode, Capacitor) is burned then it could happen.
• Sometimes the problem occurs for dry-soldering also.

Solution:

• If the problems is of Fly back then it should be replaced.
• If any parts of monitor(register, diode, Capacitor) is damaged then you should have find that part by testing your mother board and when you find it get it repaired or replaced.

• For dry-soldering if the circuit is not working properly then you should check it. If you find it then solder it again.

Why General Failure Reading Drive A: occurs?

When someone access his floppy disk, he is getting a general failure error. Maybe that the light is coming or not,when you try the command.
                  “ A drive working in windows,but when it come to DOS it is giving a error that General Failure reading drive A:
Abort:: retry:: fail:: ”
Explanation: This happens just with some particular diskette, then it would be the diskette has some non standard format. It can have more then 80 tracks or more then 18 sectors per track. Generally Windows can read such diskette without a problem, but to read it in DOS you need special driver.

But if you can't read any diskette at all, check out CMOS settings for the floppy drive.It might be that the type of the diskette was set incorrect.
Cause:

• Mainly it cause because of accessing the unformatted disk.
• If the light is not coming then it might be a problem with your drive/controller.
• If the Disk is not Formatted or the Diskette is damaged (Problem of Bad Sector) then the error occurs.
• If the disk is totally damaged then it could occur.

 
Solution:

• If it is a unformatted disk then u know what u have to do.Yes Format It.

“ I have just format my disk and I am still getting the error. What to do?” – Yes This Can Also Happen.

1. In this case try running a drive cleaner through the floppy drive.
2. It is a bad floppy. It might have a bad sector in it and the drive can't read it.
3. The disk might be damaged.

• If there is any problem of Bad Sector in the diskette then you should transfer the data from the Bad Sector to a Good Sector by using  the NDD(Norton Disk Doctor) Command of the Norton Utility. You can also point out the Bad Sector as bad and make the diskette usable.
• If the Diskette is not readable then it could be turned into readable by formatting (Formatting will erase its memory) it.

I’m getting Error message: Track O Bad.

It doesn’t happened with me but yes this can occur in any PC.The necessary reasons behind this and how To solve this problem(I’m getting Error message: Invalid media/Track O Bad.) is Listed Below:

Cause:

• If the diskette is damaged then the error comes.
• If there is any problem in the Head of the Disk Drive then it occurs.

Solution:

• If the problem is of the damaged track of the diskette then you should check it by giving the Format Command  on a Blank Diskette Drive. If the Diskette is then readable or Formatable then the Diskette is damaged. For that you should replace it with a working one.
• If you want to try to save the diskettes (verify that they are really bad):
  - Cleaning the heads on the drive.
  - Formatting in another drive (with clean heads of course).
  - Bulk-erasing the diskette.
• You can Try formatting that disk.
• If the Diskette is not readable or Formatable after doing the test written above then the Diskette is right and the problem is of the Drive. For this you should clean the Head by using the HEAD CLEANER. If it not work then you should service the Drive. If it also not work then the Drive is totally damaged and then you should replace it.

Power coming to monitor without display.

In many cases it happens that there is no display in your computer but power is there.It is a real problem many of us faces.I find solution for it in many where so i want to make a complete solution against (“ No display on monitor ”,  “ Power coming still no display to monitor ”) this.

It happens also with me.In my case Monitor was taking power in parallel way and because of my PC motherboard was damaged so the display is not coming.Actually there is a problem on FRONT PANNEL CONTROLLER:

on the mother board.I have overcome through this problem i have to take my motherboard to a workshop to make the FRONT PANNEL CONNECTORS attached together and from then it is working fine.Any way Lets get back to the topic:

Why there is No Display in Your Monitor?

• Monitor display and High Voltage section can be Damaged.
• Display Card can be damaged.
• Power supply’s power good signal can be disconnected.
• Monitor’s Brightness control Knob might not be in right position.

 

• Ram is not properly set is ram slot/can be damaged.
• There can be problem on Motherboard.

How to get display in your Monitor?

• If the Brightness control knob is not in right position then first u have to move the brightness control knob to set it to right position.
• If the above solving technique couldn’t solve ur problem then it might be problem with your display card.In this case you have to buy a video card(Monochrome/VGA).If it works then the previous card is damaged.
• If the above techniques doesn’t solve ur problem then check ur monitor by replacing another monitor to it to check whether the monitor is proper or not.If it works then it will be a problem with your monitor.Then you have to open the video section of the monitor and check the parts(Resistance,Diode,Transistor,Capacitor) and if needed u might have to change some parts.
• In many cases this problem arise due to Ram.If the Ram is not properly set in the RAM  slot,Ram can be damaged.Well in this case first u have to check that Ram is properly set in Ram Slot or not.If it is there then U must have to check the Ram chips.U have to replace the Ram with another Ram to check whether the Ram is fine or not.There can be also problem with ur Ram slot.In this case u must have to put ur Ram to another motherboard to check Ur ram slot is ok or not.If it is the case then u have to replace it.
• If the above reason’s are not in your case well then u have to open the Add-in-Card:

and connect only the video card to see display is coming or not or u can put the video card to any other slot.

• If any of the above reason is not for ur one then it should be a problem with ur motherboard.So for that u have to connect all of you PC devices to a another motherboard and see it works or not.If it works then u have to check ur motherboard to see where in the motherboard the problem arise.In many cases it happens with FRONT PANNEL CONNECTOR.In ur case it might be something else.

This is a very fatal error. It can even cause certain damage to ur Hard Disk.U might have to load Operating System again.So be careful about this error!

PRTY ERR (Parity Error)

Cause: At the time of Power On self Test(POST) every SIMM’s Parity bit is set/reset.By that it is checked that the bit can transfer to which status.When PRTY ERR (Parity Error) this error comes then one or one more SIMM is unable to Clean the Parity Bit.

















Solve:1) when this (Parity Error) error comes u have to see that the memory card is properly
installed/configured or n’t.You have to make it right.






2) If the Error Message is still there then the problem might be of system memory.For that one or more SIMM Defect can be there which can be replaced with a working SIMM.

CKSUM ERR(checksum error)

Cause: 1) When computer boot then POST(Power On Self Test) BIOS’s Every byte read occure and checksum value generates.If the Checksum value,not zero(0) then this CKSUM ERR(checksum error) comes.

         




 2) For system board bad Address or data line if data line/address line is not properly read from BIOS then this CKSUM ERR(checksum error) comes.So C.P.U gets wrong information.

How to solve this problem?









: First u have to check BIOS CHIPS that it is properly set in the system board or any pin is damaged or n’t.If there is any damage to the pins then IC Socket will not get the proper connection.So u have to properly set the BIOS chips to the socket.If it doesn’t work then u might have to change the BIOS chip.

Invalid Configuration please run setup program.

Invalid Configuration please run setup program is a kind of error which comes when the setup is not properly saved i mean all the settings are not made properly.

CAUSE: The setup comfiguration information which is set in CMOS RAM doesn’t match with Computer System.

HOW TO SOLVE THIS?

: You have to check System CMOS’s setup Configuration is proper or not.If the Information is not proper then You should have to correct it and then save it and Reboot.Then (Invalid Configuration please run setup program)this error will be gone forever.

Memory high address line at [xxx], Read [xxx] expecting [xxx] Memory parity failure.

Yes sometimes it happen when you open your computer you suddenly got a error “Memory high address line at [xxx], Read [xxx] expecting [xxx] Memory parity failure at [xxx-xxx] Memory read/write failure at [xxx], Read [xxx] expecting [xxx]”

Why this error Comes ?

• Ram chip/SIMM/DIMM module is not properly set/inserted.
• Ram chip/SIMM/DIMM module can be damaged.

How to solve this problem ?

• If the Ram chip is not properly attached(in case of SIMM it will be Memory Bank) in the Ram Socket then this message can arrive.

          So you have to see that the RAM chip/SIMMroperly attached or not. If not then open it and fix it well.If it doesn’t work then do the following.

• You have to also see that RAM chip/SIMM is damaged or not.If it is damaged then u have to replace it with another RAM chip but it should have to be of same module.

Screen Display not coming but it beeps.

Sometimes it happens that screen display is not coming to your computer but u can hear a beep sound now why it happens and where from the beep sound is coming?

What is the cause behind “Display not coming but it beeps” ?
Ans:   1. Display card can be damage.
          2. Ram can be damaged.

How to solve this problem and get back display onto your computer?
Ans:   1. You first need to check ur computer ram slot that your ram is properly inserted there or not.If it is attached there properly then open ram from the ram slot and put it onto another ram slot if it works then ur ram slot is damaged then u need to not to worry you can work from another ram slot.But yes if u have a another ram then to place it u need to repair the ram slot for that ram to use.
         2. If the display card is damaged then should be changed.But how to know the display card is damaged or not.Well for that u need to put a working display card on your computer.

Why CMOS MEMORY SIZE MISMATCH ERROR Comes.

CAUSE: Memory means RAM chip or SIMM.In computer whatever memory is there and with that in CMOS Setup’s whatever memory is set,if it is less than that or more than that then the message can come i.e when system starts System memory doesn’t go with the COMS setup set memory and if the memory content i not matched then the '”message” can be shown.

 How to Escape from this?
Ans: Now u have to see that system’s memory is matched with system’s recognised memory if it’s not then CMOS setup tell us that CMOS MEMORY SIZE MISMATCH. If that was not there then you have to tell the setup.
To know “CMOS BATTERY STATE LOW”.

Why CMOS BATTERY STATE LOW message comes?

Its a error regarding a battery which is in the Motherboard.

What is cause behind showing this message?
Ans: In computer CMOS only have the RAM Information Setup, for that the battery is used to hold that voltage.In this case there might be a battery state Low.So the Error message is comming.
How to solve This?
Ans: U sing the meter u have to measure the voltage of the battery.If needed first the battery will be remove from the circuit and then u have to measure.Battery Voltage should be in 3.0v – 3.6v But if the voltage of the battery is below than that then u have to use a new battery.

what is decreasing available memory?

One day I was just doing my job and suddenly I got a error message.

 Memory write/read failure at 10000380, read 00EF00FF expecting 00EF00EF
Decreasing available memory
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility.
Now why this Error Comes?
Ans: 1) There can be defect on the RAM chip.
        2) It might not be properly set on the SIMM slot.
How to Solve this Problem?
Ans: 1) First u have to check whether the RAM chip/SIMM is damaged or not.In this test well RAM chip/SIMM should be placed against the doubtable RAM chip/SIMM on the slot and then u have to on the computer and by memory testing u have to find that the RAM chip/SIMM was good or not.
        2) Sometimes If the RAM chip/SIMM is not properly set then it can happen.So u have to check that the RAM chip/SIMM is properly attavhed or not.Now u will say I ‘m using my computer for a long days then how can the RAM chip be loose now.Then I will tell that Yes the RAM chip can be still loose from the RAM slot as if a little portion of RAM chip also comes out then the motherboard can’t detect the RAM then.

Whenever I start my computer it started well but after sometimes it hanged!!!!!

 What are  the reasons behind it?
Ans: 1) You are using a huge amount of  programs with a low capacity of RAM.
         2) Regarding Excessive Heat as u have opened it 5 hours before.
         3) There might be a problem of IC there is a pasting which keep the IC cool as it passes the heat through the fan.

        


4) Your SMPS might be damaged it can’t the exact power supply what your PC wants.
        5) There might be a problem with your Operating System Software.
How to fix the problem?
Ans: SOFTWARE PROBLEM : 
1) First  if you have open a huge amount of program on a low capacity of RAM then Press Alt+Ctrl+Del.

 It will open the windows task manager. It will look like this:

 Now  after having the task manager you have to end the Task what u don’t want just Right Click on it and

Press End Task. After that your computer can come back to normal position.
2) If you did not  solve the issue,go to switch user (for XP) and log off that user, go back to your log on screen and log on again.
The reason the computer hang up is because if there are many open programs and applications, these stays in the memory, if it is too much for the memory to handle, it hangs!!!!! Another reason too the computer hang up is because if you are connected to the internet via dial up, and you are running too many applications and opening many websites. So I advice u that if you are multimedia user or a heavy internet user, then you have to go with at least 512Mb of memory.
3) If all the fans are working properly then there might be a problem with Operating System Software.Then U have to check it and if it happens then u have to reinstall the Operating System CD.
Precautions To Take:
1) Clean your History once in a week Go to tools->Internet Options->Clear History. It will make ur computer to process faster.
2) Delete all internet temporary files.Go to tools –> Internet Options –> Delete Files.
3) Delete all cookies Go to Tools-> Internet Options –> Delete Cookies.
4) Delete unwanted programs Go To Control Panel –> Add/Remove Programs.
5) Make defragmentation of each drive once in a week.Go to any drive (Like C:) –> Properties –> tools –>  defragment now.
HARDWARE PROBLEM :
1) You have to check that the power supply fan is working properly or not if it is working properly  then you probably have to open the casing to see that the processer fan is working properly or not.If the is not working properly then you have to change the fan.



If this things doesn’t work then u have to consult with an Hardware Engineer.

Why I get shock from My Computer.

“ When i touch my computer it shocks me ” it means there is a definite problem with my computer.

 What is the reason behind this?
Ans: Earthing haven't done to your computer.
What is way to solve this?
Ans:  First u have to made  well earthing to the computer.In the three pin power cord third pin is for the earthing. If u use two pin power cord to supply power to the computer then if u touch ur computer it will definitely shocks u.You should have to shift to 3 pin power cord. But if u are using 3-pin-power-cord ,it still shocks u then it is a problem of earthing.Then check ur power socket earthing and make it done by an electrician.
